Diaphragm Pump For Personal Care Products
A renowned UK producer of luxury bathing products, some years ago switched from electrically driven pumps to the unique 'One Nut' fast maintenance double diaphragm pumps from FPL and saved both time and money on maintenance.
Manufacturing a wide range of fragrant luxury bathing products since 1883. Still privately owned, the companies products include soaps, bath gels, hand & body lotions, cologne, shower gel and much more.
The customer switched to Flotronic Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm pumps because they are simple, easy to maintain and they have an ability to dead head without causing any damage to the pumps.
The two 710 Series 316 stainless steel pumps are used to transfer a range of media, such as moisturizing lotion, hand & body lotions, shower gels and shampoos. Used in their Liquid Mixing Room, the pumps transfer hot emulsified lotion from the mixing tanks to the cooling vat at a temperature up to 90°C and at a rate of 3 tonnes per hour. With a flooded suction and discharge of up to 3 metres, the hot lotion has a viscosity of around 100cp.
The second application is handling the material at 15°C where the viscosity increases to 10,000cp and transfers the finished product into IBC’s. The 1" pumps have virgin PTFE elastomers and ball valves and are part of the unique 'One Nut' fast maintenance design, thus enabling diaphragm changes in less than 10 minutes.
