Do You Need To Pump Fragrances or Flavours

One of the worlds leading fragrances, flavours and food ingredients companies are using the Flotronic Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm Pumps as their site standard, replacing the older style 'figure of eight' AODP, significantly reducing their maintenance times.

The company manufacture a range of fragrances for personal & home care, oral care, cosmetics and fine fragrances. The Flotronic fast maintenance 'One Nut' range of diaphragm pumps are used at almost every stage of the manufacturing process.

Flotronic 710 Series pumps fulfil a number of duties throughout the plant. These are constructed from 316 stainless steel with virgin PTFE diaphragms, which fully complies with FDA requirements for use in hygienic applications. Size ranges from ½" to 2" with flowrates up to 295 l/min.

Replacing older style pumps, which can take several hours to strip and rebuild because of their multiple bolted construction the Flotronic 'One Nut' fast strip pumps have saved both time and money.

Because of the 'One Nut' design they can actually maintain the Flotronic pumps in situ, there is no need to remove them from the pipework. Site estimates estimate that it takes ½-¾ hour tops to overhaul the Flotronic pumps, compared to 2-3 hours for the older style, saving a significant amount of time and hassle. They prefer working on the Flotronic pumps as they have so few parts and are very simple to understand.

In the manufacturing plant, a large number of FPL Chemflo all virgin PTFE pumps are used to pump various media and are ideal in applications where wide variations in temperature are involved. Two HiFlo 710 pumps complete the story, used for tanker loading with finished product for delivery to customers. They are connected to multiple suction lines so that they can transfer product from IBC’s to road tankers with minimal pipework flushing. These 2" pumps can transfer at a rate of 540 l/min, minimising tanker turnaround.
