Pump Sulphuric Acid With An AODD Pump

An International Car Manufacturer needed to Pump Sulphuric Acid at one of their plants in the UK. Obviously this material needed to transferred safely; with pump longevity and the time between any maintenance work also being very important.

Flotronic were able to supply a Polypropylene version of their 500 series Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm Pump. The combination of Polypropylene which is rated Excellent with Sulphuric Acid with concentrations up to 70% used to manufacture the pump body and PTFE Diaphragms offered the perfect material solution.

Site engineers were confident in the longevity of the Flotronic 'One Nut' AODP design, having had existing versions on site for 15 years with no maintenance issues. One commented that even when they did need to strip the pumps down they were "Easy to get into"
