How Can I Pump Sauce Between Cooking Vessels
An international, food processor needed an hygienic AODP for the production lines at one of their sauce production plants based in the North of the UK
Flotronic were able to supply two of thier 2" hygienic / FDA range of Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm Pumps in 316L Stainless Steel with FDA approved PTFE / Teflon diaphragms from their unique 'One Nut' fast maintenance diaphragm pump range. One pump handles a lentil sauce mixture which is pumped at a temperature of 80-90C, transferring from one cooking kettle to another where further ingredients are added. The pump has a flooded suction and delivers the sauce 1 M vertically.
The second pump handles a spice sauce, which is pumped at a temperature of 75-80 C. This sauce is transferred to a mixing vessel, where a mixture of vegetables and rice are added.
The Flotronic AODD pump range was chosen because of their ability to handle a range of viscose sauces and particulates, on this hygienic application, with minimal damage or shear.
"We like the ease of maintenance and the service we have had from Flotronic Pumps" Engineering Manager. "The pumps have also been reliable in service. The other thing to note is that there is a low rate of spare parts that have been used when compared to other pumps that we use transferring similar sauces with particulate at temperature."
