Unibloc® Hygienic Technologies Adds Twin Screw Pumps to Its Offering

KENNESAW, Ga., January 26, 2026 – Unibloc® Hygienic Technologies (UHT), a manufacturer of hygienic pumps and flow control products, announces a new line of patent-pending twin screw pumps that are easier to maintain, are more sanitary, and reassemble faster than any other hygienic twin screw pump on the market. It is ideal for applications in the food, cosmetics, personal care products, industrial, and pharmaceutical industries.

Like other twin screw pumps, Unibloc Twin Screw pumps provide a smooth, non-pulsating flow that minimizes shear stress, preserving the integrity of high viscosity, shear-sensitive products such as dairy products, emulsions, fruit purees, soups, creams, gels, and serums. They are designed to generate more pressure than some other pump designs, making them ideal for long pipe runs, vertical lifts, and highly viscous products. They provide effective cleaning in place because they can operate athigh RPM.

Unlike other twin screw pumps, the Unibloc Twin Screw pumps provide a variety of advantages that make it easier to operate, offer more performance, are faster to clean, and provide a lower Total Cost of Ownership:

  • It is designed for simplicity, with fewer parts, identical drive and lay screw shafts, one-way reassembly, and other innovations that make cleaning much faster than the hours required for other twin screw pumps.
  • It is the only twin screw pump that provides external access to make timing adjustments (patent pending), allowing rapid 5-minute adjustments without the time-consuming process of disassembling the entire oil housing. Other twin screw pumps require the user to remove the housing, exposing the surrounding workspace and food stream to contamination and risking slippery oil spills.
  • The entire oil reservoir design, also patent-pending, delivers better oil circulation, providing superior heat dissipation and enhanced bearing protection to extend bearing life and reduce the risk of overheating.
  • It offers a patent-pending front-loaded seal design that simplifies replacement and decreases the chance of seal failures.
  • Their modular designs make it easier to upgrade to other models.
  • Their bi-directional flow enables complete emptying, minimizing product waste and ensuring thorough cleaning between batches.
  • The pumps are capable of dual-duty design – a single pump for processing at low speeds or effective CIP at higher speeds.

UHT becomes the only leading manufacturer of all four primary hygienic pump technologies.

It has long been a challenge for processors to select the right pump typefor an application. While customers seek guidance from pump manufacturers, they worry about potential bias, unsure if they’re getting the best technology or just what the manufacturer happens to sell.

As the only leading pump manufacturer to offer all four primary hygienic pump technologies, UHT application engineers can provide unbiased recommendations for the most appropriate pump technology:

  • Lobe pumps
  • Gear pumps
  • AODD (air-operated double-diaphragm) pumps
  • Twin screw pumps

“Our customers are experts in their processes but not always experts in the fluid dynamics that determine the best pump technology they need to transfer their products,” explains UHT CEO Chris Stevens. “Now, with the addition of the Twin Screw pump family, we can recommend the most effective of the four primary pump technologies for a customer’s application, while others have to make compromises due to a more limited product offering.”

Unibloc Twin Screw pumps offer better productivity, and lower Total Cost of Ownership.

The Unibloc Twin Screw pumps offer gentle handling of fluids with viscosities up to 1,000,000 cP and solid particles up to 45 mm. The family of four pumps has flow capacities from 200 to 1,200 gallons (757 to 4542 liters) per minute with volumetric efficiency greater than 90%. The pumps can operate at temperatures up to 248°F (120°C) and system pressures of 360 psi (24.8 bar) to enable their use with a wide range of products.

Screw Diameter Ports PSI (Bar) RPM Flow per Minute
3-inch (080 mm) 3-inch 360 psi (24.8 bar) 3600 200 gallons/min (757 liters)
4-inch (100 mm) 3-inch 360 psi (24.8 bar) 3000 300 gallons/min (1135 l/min)
5-inch (130 mm) * 5-inch 360 psi (24.8 bar) 1800 380 gallons/min (1438 l/min)
7.5-inch (190 mm)* 8-inch 360 psi (24.8 bar) 1800 1200 gallons/min (4542 l/min)

The Twin Screw pumps meet 3A sanitary standards and support clean-in-place (CIP) processes, with significant reductions in maintenance costs and pump downtime. Operating speeds up to 3,600 RPM for increased productivity with reverse pumping capability to minimize product waste.

Unibloc® Hygienic Technologies Launches CleanPlus™ Hygienic Pumps

KENNESAW, GA – November 19, 2025 – Too often, the transfer pumps critical to processing and tanker fleets have been vulnerable to damage, costly leaks, and labor-intensive maintenance. To cut these costs, Unibloc® Hygienic Technologies (UHT, unibloctech.com), a global provider of hygienic positive displacement pumps, has its new Unibloc® CleanPlus™ line of hygienic pumps for cosmetic, pharmaceutical, and tanker truck applications that require durable, sanitary operations.

The new lobe pumps feature bolt-free rotors that eliminate downtime and pump damage caused by improper tightening. Suitable for both Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Clean-out-of-Place (COP) applications, the pumps slash maintenance times because of a unique easy-to-disassemble design specific to the Unibloc brand.

New pumps use proven technology.

Most features of the new CleanPlus pumps have long been available in other UHT pumps sold throughout the demanding food and beverage industries. Thousands of processors and fleet owners have relied on those features to lower the total cost of ownership for pumps in their facilities. For example, manual cleaning that used to take as long as 2 hours for other pumps takes only 20 minutes with a Unibloc CleanPlus pump, freeing up hard-to-find technicians for other work.

More hygienic than ordinary pumps.

Based on the company’s FoodFirst pump technology proven in applications where cleanliness is critical, the Unibloc CleanPlus lobe pumps offer an exceptionally hygienic design compared to other pumps. Stainless-steel rotors eliminate the chance of plastic wearing into a process and contaminating an entire batch. In addition, pump housings are milled from a single billet of steel to avoid any seams or weld transitions where bacteria or product could hide.

Patented bearing facilitates CIP.

Unlike older pump designs, the new pumps use an easy-to-clean patented FlushCap bearing to stabilize the rotors. This makes the pumps fully compatible with CIP processes that are common in process applications.

QuickStrip® design enables rapid COP.

Some pumped products are too viscous for CIP and must be disassembled and cleaned manually. Unibloc CleanPlus pumps truly shine in COP processes because Unibloc’s proprietary QuickStrip® design cuts cleaning times from hours to minutes. The simplified pump design minimizes the number of parts and can be disassembled without tools. What’s more, managers can stock fewer spare parts and spend less time training maintenance crews.

Bolt-free rotors eliminate damage from rotor bolts.

It is not uncommon for the crews who clean and maintain pumps to torque rotor bolts incorrectly. Too tight, they crush the sleeves or deflect the shaft, causing leaks and gouging the housing. Too loose, the rotor bolts can back out, allowing shaft deflection and potentially catastrophic damage. Plant managers and tanker-fleet operators can avoid these issues by using a Unibloc CleanPlus pump, which needs no rotor bolts.

Availability and specifications.

Unibloc CleanPlus lobe pumps are available now with 2-week lead times. They come in port sizes ranging from 1-inch to 8-inch and depending on the model they can pump up to 500 gallons per minute (1900 liters per minute). They may be used with product as hot as 400o F (204o C). To download a high resolution image of the product click here
