AODD Pumps Perfect For Personal Care Products
When Klockner Pentapack switched from drums to pallecons they reviewed their pumping needs.
Previously they had been using air operated piston drum pumps but the switch to pallecons enabled them to try Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm Pumps from Flotronic, which they found were much easier to use and simpler to strip.
As a result, they have now standardised on Flotronic AODD pumps in their production area. Klockner Pentapack Ltd, part of the European Contract Packing Group, has over 50 years experience in finding packaging solutions for their customer’s products. Their customers are in the healthcare, personal care, food and household care markets.
At their Rhymney, Gwent plant, Klockner Pentapack handle a diverse range of products.
The 1" 710 Series Pumps, manufactured from 316 stainless steel with PTFE elastomers, transfer the media from pallecons into sachet machines, tube fillers and bottle filling lines. The pumps have flooded suctions and deliver up to 3 metre head and the products are at ambient temperature and a wide range of viscosities. At the end of each product run they are washed with detergent at 65ºC, then stripped for validation.

The drum pumps that they were using were very awkward and time consuming to strip and difficult to clean.
