Double Diaphragm Pump Transferring Kimchi Sauce

A Japanese food manufacturer transferring Kimchi Sauce with Rotary Pumps were having a problem with stainless steel particles caused by stainless steel friction within their Rotary Pump. Metal detectors in the process pipework downstream of the pump would pick up the metal particles in the Kimchi Sauce.

They would then have to to stop production to be able to strip and clean the pumps and process pipework. Every time it happened 2 to 3 hours production was lost while they solved the problem.

THE SOLUTION

They had seen the Flotronic 'One Nut' Slimline Double Diaphragm Pump at an exhibition in Tokyo and liked how easy it was to strip and clean. They also realized there are no Stainless Steel to Stainless Steel friction points in a 'One Nut' pump doing away with the problem of Stainless Steel particles in their product.

They put a Flotronic Pump on their application and their problem was solved immediately.

They have also discovered that since they started using the 'One Nut' Pump, the bacteria in the sauce have become zero.

Pumps are Cleaned In Place at 90°C once a week.
