How Do I Pump Specialty Flavours

USA owned flavourings company based in the UK, relies upon Hygienic Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm Pumps from FPL in the production of speciality flavours, used in the food and pharmaceutical industries.

The Flotronic "One Nut" quick maintenance FDA approved hygienic pump handles liquids that include botanical extracts, concentrated fruit juices, alcohols and a range of solvents. Three 1" stainless steel 710 Series hygienic pumps have been in use for over five years, requiring virtually no maintenance. They replaced progressing cavity pumps which suffered continual gland leakage and the risk of over pressurising their system.

Engineering Manager: "We like the simplicity of the Flotronic AODP and, in particular, the inherent safety feature which means the discharge pressure can never exceed the air inlet pressure".

The pumps are used to transfer media from drums, tanks and IBC’s, and to feed plate filters for the removal of plant fibrous materials.

"I also like the flexibility of use",

"As I can easily switch from one product to another as they cope very well with both thin products such as solvents, and thick products like concentrates. When it comes to maintenance, well you make them too good, they hardly ever need attention".
