CUSTOMIZED PRODUCTS

If our products don’t exactly meet your requirements we can modify them for you.  We have an excellent facility for customising products whether it be simply a different connection, material, painting specification, or more complicated locking arrangements, pipework, valves etc.

For an Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm pump built to your specification, just ask, we can usually help you.

LOW-COST RUPTURE PROTECTION SYSTEM (UPGRADE * OR B)

Flotronic’s diaphragm failure protection package is the Guardian system, which consists of an additional diaphragm behind each of the primary working diaphragms.

In the event of a primary diaphragm rupture, the secondary chambers created by the additional diaphragm arrangements will:

  • contain the media within a compatible intermediate chamber
  • save the pump air system from damage
  • eliminates the risk of leakage into the environment from a failed diaphragm

The Guardian has additional tappings enabling customers to connect their own pressure switches for pressure indication of diaphragm rupture.

The Guardian rupture protection system can be fitted to any of the Flotronic range of Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm pumps.

This chamber can be in low-cost Polypropylene (upgrade *) or a material to match the pump wetted body (upgrade B).

SENTINEL ALARM SYSTEM (UPGRADE A)

The Sentinel system provides an upgrade to our Guardian package incorporating an audible alarm and/or pump shut down facility.

A self contained fully pneumatic system, the Sentinel system senses the imminent danger presented by a diaphragm rupture or leak by detecting the loss of vacuum in the intermediate chamber. Sentinel can then, if specified:

  • shut down the pump
  • sound an audible alarm
  • provide an auxiliary pneumatic pressure signal.

POLYPROPYLENE AIR VALVE (UPGRADE N)

Replace our standard Aluminium Air Valve with  polypropylene alternative on the 7" and 10" range of pumps (standard on larger pumps).

Better chemical compatiblity.

HAND POLISHED PUMP (UPGRADE H)

Flotronic offer a certified surface finish; available on all 316L Stainless and Hastelloy pumps.

Standard surface finish options available are:

  1. External non wetted metal parts surface finish equal to 1Ra (40Ra µi)
  2. Internal wetted metal parts finish equal to:
    1. 0.8Ra µm ( 32Ra µi)
    2. 0.5Ra µm ( 19Ra µi)
    3. 0.38Ra µm ( 15Ra µi)

If any other surface finish is required contact Flotronic to check availability.

AIR FILTER REGULATOR (UPGRADE F)

Accurately control pump air pressure to achieve optimum performance by simply bolting on a filter regulator.

ATEX (UPGRADE O)

Don’t forget to tell us if you need ATEX certification, and to what level.

FPL 'One Nut' range can be manufactured in anti-static PTFE and polypropylene, stainless steel, PVC and PVDF, with anti-static diaphragms, balls and seals. All pumps have entirely stainless steel, non-wetted surface casings with the addition of earthing straps and lugs and has been Independently ATEX certified.

ATEX certified FPL 'One Nut' pumps carry the proof of this compliance. Each pump is marked legibly and indelibly with FPL's name and address, the CE mark and number of the notified Body, series or type designation of the pump, specific Ex logo, year of manufacture and serial number

FLANGE CONNECTION (CONNECTIONS)

Any standard inlet/outlet connection can be supplied. BSPT, NPT, RJT, IDF, ANSI 150, DIN, BS flanges.

Don’t hesitate to ask for your preferred connection style.

PUMP TROLLEY (UPGRADE W)

AODD pumps are recognized as one of the most versatile of pump types; this can be further enhanced with the addition of either a 2 or 4 wheeled trolley.

A wide range of standard trolleys are available or Flotronic can supply a customized trolley for your needs.

PUMP COUNTER SYSTEM (UPGRADE C)

All pumps can easily be modified to count and stop within an accuracy of +/-2%. This pneumatic counter simply attaches to the pump air system in a stainless steel enclosure.

The amount of pump cycles required are entered into the counter; pump is started and stops after the required amount of cycles. Then reset manually or remotely and restarted to repeat same cycles.

TOMMY BAR FITTED TO PUMP (UPGRADE G)

Make stripping down the pump even quicker.

Flotronic's inherent speed of Strip-down for cleaning or inspection can be further enhanced with the fitting of a Tommy Bar to replace the normal Main 'One nut' .

Cleaning / inspecting diaphragms and pump internal can then become a Tool Free operation.

INTEGRAL HOT WATER JACKET (UPGRADE J)

If you need to pump a temperature sensitive material we offer Jacketed versions across our Stainless / Hastelloy range. Can be set up to work with steam, hot or cold water to suit application requirements.

Used extensively in the confectionary industry on chocolate applications.

PULSATION DAMPERS (UPGRADE P)

In common with many other types of pumps, Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm pumps produce a pulsed flow which can create vibration and shake in delivery pipework. This can mean wear in pipework joints, support brackets and other system components, compromising long-term process integrity.

Flotronic pulsation dampers offer an excellent solution to this problem. Available as single, twin or multi-ported and fitted either to a Flotronic pump or at any suitable point in a pipework system, Flotronic pulsation dampers eliminate up to 95% of pulsation, reducing vibration and any associated problems.

Dampers are provided in stainless steel, virgin or anti-static PTFE, Polypropylene, aluminium or exotic materials with virgin or anti-static PTFE diaphragms as standard.

LOW PRESSURE 0.5 BARG OPERATION (UPGRADE L)

Where the process calls for low pressure only on the product; Flotronic offer our Low Pressure system.

This works by giving full system pressure to the air system shuttle valve to ensure no stalling while allowing the air pressure reaching the diaphragms to be lowered to 0.5 barg ensuring product sees no more pressure than that.

THRUST TUBES VARIOUS

Thrust tubes can be manufactured from a material matched to the product being pumped or given a Chromium Infused surface if abrasion is an issue.

CHOICE OF DIAPHRAGMS

The key to a successful PTFE diaphragm is a very short stroking action. Flotronic are able to use a shorter stroke enabling us to achieve a multi-million cycle ‘norm’. Our standard diaphragm has a  Virgin PTFE face, bonded to Nitrile Rubber, which covers the majority of applications.

VIRGIN PTFE - NITRILE BACKED.

Option code T (6th digit in pump code). The perfect diaphragm, flexable yet corrosion resistant and as a one piece Virgin PTFE face diaphragm, achieving multi-million cycles as standard.

Temperature range: -15°C to 100°C ( 5°F to 212°F)

VIRGIN PTFE - EPDM BACKED.

option H in pump code (6th digit in pump code). Virgin PTFE faced with EPDM backing. Suitable for high temperature applications, and applications where EPDM backing is preferred.

Temperature range: -15°C to 135°C ( 5°F to 275°F)

TFM - NITRILE BACKED

Option code U (6th digit in pump code).  A diaphragm for particularly difficult applications where PTFE is required but virgin lifetime is limited, e.g permeation. The TFM faced diaphragm range is available for all styles of Flotronic pump.

Temperature range: -15°C to 100°C ( 5°F to 212°F)

ANTI-STATIC PTFE - NITRILE BACKED

Option code A (6th digit in pump code).  A diaphragm for ATEX applications ensuring ‘in the zone’ maintenance is still allowed.

Temperature range: -15°C to 100°C ( 5°F to 212°F)

ANTI-STATIC PTFE - EPDM BACKED

Option code A (6th digit in pump code).  A diaphragm for ATEX applications ensuring ‘in the zone’ maintenance is still allowed.

Suitable for high temperature applications, and applications where EPDM backing is preferred.

Temperature range: -15°C to 135°C ( 5°F to 275°F)

NITRILE

Option code N (6th digit in pump code). For very high abrasive media applications, with limited chemical resistance .

Temperature range: -10°C to 100°C ( 14°F to 212°F)
